Veer Bhagat Singh Vidyalaya every year makes sure that they welcome their favourite elephant god in an eco-friendly manner. Students of Nature and Science club made ecofriendly Ganesh idols under the guidance of their Art and Craft teacher, Ms. Rupali
Ms. Rupali said, "It was an exciting experience for the children to model and create beautiful idols of Lord Ganesh in different sizes and shapes and then taking it home."
The students said it was a fun session with for them. After these sessions, they have realized the effort of the artisans and the sculptors for their tireless and painstaking efforts in creating these idols year after year, and they all appreciate and respect them. They humbly saluted to all the artists who unfailingly enthrall us with their art and craft and bring to us the Lord in their innovative and breath taking displays.
Ms. Monica Bhatia Principal, Veer Bhagat Singh Vidyalaya School said, “Building on the long tradition of environmental care at our school, we encourage our students to play an active role in working with various aspects of nature. Eco friendly Ganesha making is an activity to orient children to value and preserve nature as we are using medium which does not pollute water, and tap potential in the child in terms of child's interest in mud work or sculpture”.
Caring for the environment
Our first project this academic year is concerned with 'Caring for the environment'.
We have again undertaken a wonderful project with our friends in India, this time the project was linked to caring for the environment. Children in Year 5 at Killinghall have researched into global warming and debated the topic. They have then made either a booklet or a poster outlining the issues around global warming and how we can help. Please enjoy looking at our work.
The children in India have produced some wonderful work relating to the environmental topic. Please enjoy looking at their photographs.
This page will be update regularly, so please come back soon to have a look at what we have been doing.
